Hidden Sounds: One Man’s Quest to Uncover the Stories That Lie Beneath the Surface

What stories can be found beneath the surface of a pond? What can we learn about the hidden ecosystems that exist on our doorstep?

Using advanced underwater recording techniques, Sonic Explorer David de la Haye goes in search of hidden sounds and opens our ears to new worlds that exist beneath the surface of the water. Working in collaboration with folk singer/songwriter Jez Lowe, he reveals the stunning diversity of life that can be found in even the smallest body of water.

“Hidden Sounds” was made possible by The Land Lines Project – Nature Revealed, a partnership project between the University of Leeds and Natural England, funded by the Arts & Humanities Research Council.

Filmed in Newcastle, Northumberland, Sunderland and Durham, Hidden Sounds was Produced by Objectiv Pictures for Palace of Science.
