The Defence Medical Welfare Service (DMWS) is a charitable organisation dedicated to supporting the health and well-being of those in the armed forces community, as well as other frontline workers and their families.
When DMWS asked us to create a video showcasing the impact of their work, confidentiality emerged as a key challenge. Sharing real experiences was crucial to conveying the power of their work, but protecting the identities of those involved was non-negotiable. We turned to animation as the solution. Animation offers unparalleled storytelling versatility, allowing us to balance creative expression with the sensitive nature of DMWS’s work. However, selecting the right animation style was critical. It had to align with DMWS’s brand, resonate with their audience, and stand the test of time ensuring the video remained relevant for years. As a charity, achieving maximum value within a limited budget was essential. We developed a timeless animation style that not only met the brief but also inspired DMWS to extend its use across their broader branded materials, including posters and their website. The final animation brings their powerful stories to life while maintaining the confidentiality their work requires. Watch the finished film below.
